The midfielder joined the ‘Gers from Ards in the Summer of 2025, having previously represented Crusaders, Watford and Crystal Palace at youth level.
Steele would make 37 appearances in his first season in Amber, finding the net 6 times, as well as scoring the winning penalty in January 2026 to seal the ‘Gers first senior trophy in 33 years.
He would also pick up the Young Player of the Year and Spirit of 76 SC Young Player of the Year awards at the end of the 2025/26 season.
Happy to have penned the extension, Aidan Steele said,
“I’m delighted to get the deal done and I'm already looking forward to the next 2 years, and trying to help the Club push on.
Stephen, his coaching staff and the other players have been great with me since I arrived. I’m continuing to learn each week and develop.
The aim continues to be to finish as high as we can in the league and compete in the cup competitions. We showed last year we can compete with anybody on our day in the run to winning the Shield.”
Manager Stephen Baxter added,
“Everyone at Carrick Rangers will be delighted to learn that Aidan Steele has agreed an extension on his current contract to the end of May 2029.
After a superb first season, Aidan has continued where he left off and continues to impress week in, week out.
A delightful young man both on and off the park, we are really pleased that Aidan has chosen to build his career with us and I know there is lots more to come from him as he continues his development.”
